Big Oak Farm is a family-owned business located in Bowling Green, Kentucky that resulted from an intense love for horses. However, Big Oak Farm would not exist if it was not for a wild bay roan and the most expensive anniversary present ever. In June 2013, David bought Ginger a half interest in Red Bay Cat, known as Gypsy. That $750.00 investment later turned into Big Oak Farm. There has never been a love greater than the one Ginger has for Gypsy. She is the dam of Gypsy’s Scarlet Grace, Red Bay Streakin Bug, Redneck’s Rockin Reno, and Gypsy’s Smokin Kat. Her babies are smart and Reno is already riding as a yearling. Big Oak Farm was definitely created out of love.

Big Oak Farm is a familty operation.  Stephen and Tammy Cohron, Ginger's brother and sister-in-law, take care of the day to day running and training of our horses.

While Stephen’s first love is the care and training of our babies, he also is the heart and soul of training our competitive horses for local and national competitions. Stephen will also assist in our breeding operation.

Tammy Cohron provides the sweat equity for our farm day in and day out. She provides love and cares for the newborns, weanlings, and yearlings, and this operation would not exist without her.  Tammy is the one who knows the horses inside and out.  She does all the groundwork with all horses that are brought to Big Oak Farm.

Big Oak Farm is pleased to announce Jazzing Ta Fame is standing at stud at our farm in Bowling Green, KY. JAZZ 52 is the own son of the infamous Dash Ta Fame. He has produced a plethora of winning offspring in both barrel racing and pole bending. Most recently, Famous First Prize had the fastest time at the NBHA KY STATE show. (2nd Consecutive Year).

Back Forty Fame is the 2020 IBRA Thanksgiving Futurity Champion. Everyone loves their Jazz babies. They have the build and the speed, as well as, the good mind to know how to use their talents.

Breeding is available through Artificial Insemination and Live Cover. We can now ship semen across the United States.
